87 Films is a creative-led production company that grew out of the partnership between Jim Keeble and Dudi Appleton (SILENT WITNESS, WILD BILL) alongside executive producer Patrick Irwin (THE FALL, COMBAT HOSPITAL). 87 originates ambitious projects of scale and vision, designed to attract global financing, cast and audiences. 87 Films creates, showruns, directs and produces content with a perspective that is truly international.Jim Keeble & Dudi Appleton are one of the foremost writing teams for high-end television drama in Europe. They combine crafted characterisation and plotting with an acute understanding of suspense and a razor sharp wit. They are best known for their work on THORNE – the Stephen Hopkins directed series that they adapted from the bestselling books, and for writing and directing on five seasons of SILENT WITNESS, the top-rated BBC forensic thriller.Most recently, their series WILD BILL has begun shooting for ITV, starring Rob Lowe. They have an umbrella deal with Fremantle Global, under which auspices they are developing a number of European productions, including with fellow Fremantle companies Wildside, Kwai and Abot Hameri. Other recent projects include their ongoing relationship with Chinese producer Donghui Wang, notably on JUDGE DEE, where 87 Films has delivered 40 scripts based on the life of an iconic Chinese magistrate. Production is anticipated for 2019 with one of China's biggest rated TV stars, Zhang Jiayi.87 Films combines the creative partnership of Keeble and Appleton with the financing and international co-production expertise of executive producer Patrick Irwin (THE FALL, JONATHAN STRANGE AND MR NORRELL, BANG).
