The purpose of this organization is to foster, promote, maintain, and recognize scholarship. In addition, this organization is committed to help create a positive campus culture and serve the community through volunteering events held throughout the academic year. Lastly, this organization is committed in developing future leaders who are committed to make a success for themselves, others and their communities. The Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society is affiliated with the Alpha Gamma Sigma - Gamma Psi chapter at Diablo Valley College. Alpha Gamma Sigma is the statewide California community college honor's society organization while Gamma Psi is the name of the local chapter at Diablo Valley College. Regardless of the chapter name, all chapters affiliated with Alpha Gamma Sigma maintain certain academic standards for induction, continued membership and permanent membership.
