Environmental Services - Cookstown, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom
Ballinderry Rivers Trust conserves, protects and improves the rivers and loughs of the Ballinderry River system, Lough Neagh, the Lough's western-shore streams, and their wildlife, for the benefit of the public and the wider environment. Our work is of global importance in conserving endangered species like the Freshwater Pearl Mussel and White Clawed Crayfish. We work with Universities and other research partners to study and support local populations of these important species. Our work is shared internationally to help other organisations do the same.We work with local schools to teach children about the river and what they can do to conserve it. We help local landowners to look after the river. We are a small team and rely on volunteers at all levels of the organisation. If you are interested in conservation we would love to hear from you.
