Black Greeks Speak Social Justice and Human Rights Council(BGS) is a members based educational and political studies organization dedicated to social justice and human right. The mission of BGS is to foster leadership based on enduring values to social justice and human rights and to provide a nonpartisan space for dealing with critical issues in our world. BGS does this primarily in four ways: • Seminars, which help participants reflect on what they think will bring forth Beloved Community, thereby deepening ideas and understandings, broadening perspectives and worldviews and enhancing their capacity to solve the various problems leaders and communities face. • Young College Ambassadors around the country work with our National College Impact Committee to provide leadership training for college students in policy, education, advocacy initiatives as they pertain to social justice and human rights, particularly for college students of color and other minority groups on college and university campuses. NCI encourages careful growth of college students in strategic locations around the world and positions creative programs in new sectors. Ambassadors become better leaders and apply their skills to significant challenges in the world. • Policy and community programs, which serve as nonpartisan forums for analysis, consensus building, and problem solving on a wide variety of issues. • Public conferences and special events, which provides a safe space for people of diverse backgrounds and opinions to share ideas. BGS engages public and private officials, community and civic leaders, and communities around our nine key issues to include: Political and Civic Engagement, Justice and Reentry, Education, Equity and Diversity, Church and Society, Business and Economic Development, Culture and Community, Young Males Initiative, and Young Females Enterprise
