Toena Publishing House is one of the oldest publishing houses in Albania, since 1993. Our editorial activity is based upon two main fields: Publishing of Albanian authors and Publishing of important world authors translated in Albanian. We publish a wide range of literary genres, such as fiction (novels, novellas, poetry, short story collections, drama, myth, fables, etc) and nonfiction (essays, biographies, scientific works related to natural science, works related to social sciences etc). Our publications are addressed to several target readers, such as children, young adults, and adults, specialized readers as students, academic professionals, and journalists. The main goal to achieve is to give everyone the right book at the right moment by exploring and expanding our readership in Albania and wherever Albanians live and work. Our efforts aim to achieve high international publishing standards. Our Albanian writers have influenced during the times our national cultural and social evolution through their dedicated artistic works by reflecting important issues the transition has to bring to our way of living. By the other hand, we are dedicated to bringing in Albanian through good translations important world authors. So -through years -we have translated authors like Paulo Coelho, Le Clezio, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Eric E. Schmitt, Patrick Modiano, Luigi Pirandello, Alberto Moravia, Marc Levy, Dino Buzzati, Andre Gide, A. S. Exupery, James Patterson, Andre Malraux (these are some of the foreign authors that we have published as well as the classics: Goethe, Heinrich von Kleist, Lev Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Balzac, Gorky etc.). But we are also interested in translating authors from neighborhood countries such as Ali Aliu (Republic of Macedonia), Nikos Kazantzakis (Greece), BožidarProsenjak (Croatia), Nikolai Stoyanov (Bulgaria), and others more.
