Environmental Services - Victory, Vermont, United States
Conservation Collaboratives currently owns over 1,000 acres of forestland in Northeastern Vermont where we are working to improve wildlife habitat, enhance water quality through erosion control, and refurbish the existing housing structures. From 2009 – 2015, we were involved in several carbon offset applied research projects. Although carbon offsets could provide an excellent funding source for forestland conservation, the current prices on the California and voluntary market are too low for most projects in New England to be economically viable. We look forward to the day that there is strong legislation that protects many services that forest provides. Our work in carbon and payment for ecosystem services can be found here.Currently, Victory Hill Trails, L3C owns and operates a mountain bike network on the land in Victory via a lease agreement. We will be exploring additional opportunities. Please be in touch to explore any shared goals.
