DermFoot is the first annual meeting in the country devoted to providing foot and ankle specialists an experience that no other seminar can match. Instead of hours devoted to traditional subjects like surgery and biomechanics, we focus on what a podiatrist treats every day – the skin. The skin is the largest organ in the body and can be a rewarding discipline to focus on while providing our patients a better quality of life. When is the last time you looked at the lower leg, back of the calf, and sole of the foot just to check for any suspicious skin lesions? Skin cancer is the 5th most common cancer in the US. Melanoma, largely found on the palms, soles, and nail units, is the most deadliest. As podiatrists, we can do something to change these statistics with a simple skin evaluation for our patients.DermFoot 2019 will continue its traditional of dermatological excellence in Tysons Corner, Virginia from April 11th through the 14th.
