FarmSahel is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization working to empower rural female farmers in Burkina Faso by providing them essential tools for a more sustainable agriculture. According to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Burkina Faso's agriculture sector continues to generate roughly a third of the country's GDP and employs 80 percent of the population, more than 3.5 million people, roughly 20 percent of the population are food insecure, and children under 5 years old, as well as women suffer from chronic malnutrition.
