Jam das Minas, the first game jam in Brazil to focus on thefemale audience, was founded in Recife, the capital of theNortheastern state of Pernambuco.In 2018 and 2019, our jams were hosted at Porto Digital'sauditorium. In 2020, we went further and expanded theevent, hosting simultaneous sites at both Recife and theArmazém da Criatividade (Creative Warehouse), a PortoDigital's technopole located in the city of Caruaru, inPernambuco's countryside. Due to the pandemic, this yearwe are going virtual with the jam. Furthermore, we are proud to present Minas Game DevWeek, which will comprise of a series of professionalworkshops for partipants of the jam. This initiative aims toincentivize our industry - which already has renownedcompanies such as Manifesto, Puga, Diorama and Kokku -, tobeing increasingly inclusive and more diverse.
