In September 2014, a national movement called, "its on us" was launched. This movement was created to address the issue of sexual assault on college campuses. This program was created in response to recommendations from the White House Task Force and was piloted during the Obama/Biden administration. The "it's on us" campaign emphasizes the importance of engaging everyone in the conversation to end sexual violence. Throughout the past 4 years, many campuses across the United States have taken the pledge to end sexual assault in their campuses. "The campaign combines innovative creative content and grassroots organizing techniques to spark conversation on a national and local level. Over the past two years, almost 300,000 people have taken a stand against sexual violence by taking the It's On Us pledge. The campaign works with 95 partners and students on over 500 campuses." We have many different groups that advocate for these issues and we believe that RSOs at UMass should be apart of this.
