The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) is a NCAA Division I multi-sport conference established in 1992-93 as a collaborative effort of the Big West, Pac-10 and Western Athletic Conferences. The MPSF was developed to provide a cost-contained conference and championship experience for student-athletes competing on varsity teams in Olympic sports which had no conference affilliation. Since its inception, MPSF teams have won 73 NCAA team titles. The Federation has also been successful as an incubator of NCAA emerging sports such as women's water polo and women's lacrosse; and has provided a safe harbor for men's gymnastics, men's volleyball and men's water polo which have been impacted by budget concerns and Title IX compliance. The Federation oversees all aspects of conference competition for 11 Olympic sports for member institutions of the Big West, Pac-10, Mountain West, West Coast and Western Athletic Conferences. The MPSF sports portfolio includes men's and women's water polo, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's indoor track and field, men's and women's swimming and diving, women's water polo, women's lacrosse and men's volleyball. Currently the MPSF works with 35+ institutions, 85-100 teams and head coaches from 9 states competing in NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics.Numerous coaches and student-athletes from the MPSF represent the United States on national teams, often winning medals in Olympic and international competition.
