Recreational Facilities & Services - Corpus Christi, Texas, United States
Conveniently located just south of downtown, Corpus Christi, Oso Beach Golf Course was originally designed by John Bredemus, co-founder of the Texas PGA and the Texas Open in 1949. The Corpus Christi Golf Association promoted the facility with its "World Championship Four-Ball Match" featuring the golf dream team of Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Sam Snead, and Jimmy Demaret. The course features 6,223 yards par 70 layout. This tree-lined course has water hazards coming into play on the back nine and bunkers in play throughout the entire course. While a very player friendly course the signature hole, number #13, is a strong test, a 180-yard (from the back tees), par 3, requiring a tee shot over water, directly into the prevailing wind, to the green. A chipping and putting area along with a bunker provides the perfect venue to practice those all-important, shot saving, shots around the greens. Lessons are available form our PGA professionals to help you enjoy the game more or help you introduce a new friend to the game.
