Founded in 2007, the Oxford-Man Institute (OMI) is an interdisciplinary research institute within Oxford University. In broad terms OMI aims to be the world leading centre for research in quantitative finance, developing quantitative methods and addressing industry needs; it has a focus on alternative investments, and a more general interest in innovating and developing quantitative methodology that can have impact in the financial sector. OMI aims to be at the forefront of current advances in the ways that empirical data can be used effectively, to be innovative at a foundational level, and through its collaborations with its partners, transition this understanding into directions and prototypes that are industry transforming and allow the better understanding and prediction of the actual behaviour of markets and their participants.OMI is strongly interdisciplinary. It is administratively part of the Social Sciences Division, working closely with divisional colleagues in other departments and with very close links with researchers across the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division. OMI's researchers are drawn from across the following collaborating departments: Department of Computer Science, Department of Economics, Department of Engineering, Faculty of Law, Mathematical Institute, Saïd Business School, and Department of Statistics, bringing leading academics together from a broad range of disciplines to do high-quality, independent research. For more information please visit our website:
