The Vehicle Aerodynamics Students' Academic Association (pol. SKAP - Studenckie Koło Aerodynamiki Pojazdów) is a group of young engineers studying at Warsaw University of Technology, guided mgr inż. Michał RemerThe group focuses on vehicle aerodynamics and other fields related to vehicle and machine design. SKAPs' biggest achievements (since it was founded in 2005) were related to an international contest called Shell Eco-marathon (SEM), where students from all around the world build their human-driven cars, aimed to reach the lowest possible fuel consumption. Since 2006 SKAP has been active participant in the contest with its' prototype (Pac-Car, Kropelka) and urban-concept (PAKS) cars, reaching the ability to drive for 659 km on just one liter of gasoline. The team and it's projects collected several local and international awards including 1st and 2nd place in Urban Concept category in the 2013 and 2014 editions respectively. SKAP is currently in the process of developing and producing a new prototype vehicle for the 2015 edition of the Shell Eco marathon (SEM).SEM isn't the only SKAPs' activity. The students were involved in several research projects like an aerodynamic optimization of 1250BHP Toyota Supra (to help the car break 400km/h barrier). The group also takes part in many educational events including the annual Copernicus science centre picnic and many other festivals throughout the year.
