Introducing the first software controlled sprinkler.Irrigation systems have had software/mobile phone access in recent years, but that level of software control is limited to turning water on and off. The sprinkler itself is a purely mechanical device. The WaterSketch sprinkler is a brand new concept. There are no physical controls on it. It is entirely software driven and the user interface is a mobile app running on a smart phone. It is, essentially, a robot that sprays water. Unlike a traditional lawn sprinkler or irrigation sprinkler head, it does not simply blast water in a general direction. Rather, it sprays a stream that is focused enough to target an individual plant, but spread enough to not be damaging.* It is a rotational sprinkler, so its range is a circle with a radius of 35', which makes the coverage area almost 4000 sq. ft.* It targets water precisely in both distance and direction.* Areas you want to water are "sketched" using the mobile app.* Sketches can be as intricate as you like, so you no longer need to water the driveway, patio, fence or neighbor's car.* Any number of sketches can be created for any number of locations.* A location is defined by a small, low-profile base permanently spiked into the ground. Any sketch defined on a base can be run from that base at any time.* The sprinkler knows which base it is on (or if it is even on a base), which allows it to ensure a sketch is run from the correct location. It also allows the sprinkler to automatically start sketches simply by placing the sprinkler on a base.* It knows how much water it is spraying, so it delivers the amount of water you specify. Choose a number of inches of depth, regardless of area size, instead of guessing at how much time or how many gallons.* It is self powered. There is no electrical wiring and there are no consumable batteries.* Schedule watering patterns to run at the ideal time of day.
