Nonprofit Organization Management - Odherwal, Punjab, Pakistan
TAIK is working in Chakwal, Pakistan mainly on Jhuggi School Project to educate marginalized communities of beggers. The aim is to make these children a valuable citizen of the country and later on having them enter the labor force to contribute to the economy of Pakistan. Jhuggi School Project, not only gives formal education but also informal education which includes teaching children how to keep clean, take care of their health and hygiene. TAIK is also working toward empowering women. Bali Rani who used to beg on the streets now has a rikshaw, she earns her own living and supports her children. We teach women how to sew so they can start their own businesses at home and earn. TAIK takes pride in saying that everyone here tries their best to protect the environment. We teach our children to recycle plastic and make different decorations items out of it. TAIK also keep many awareness campaigns throughout the year to educate these communities on different social topics including child abuse and sexual harassment.
