Youth University is a company specializing in providing entrepreneurial experiences to teens ages 13 – 19 currently enrolled in high school. Youth University started in 2007 offering a single business credit course as a pilot to 12 Columbus, OH students. Since, Youth University has annually offered training, mentorship, and venture capital to teen entrepreneurial projects in Columbus, OH. In 2009, Youth University consolidated its programs into two main experiences: The Annual Business Creation Course, and the Intro to Entrepreneurship Summer Course. The Business Creation course is a full-reality entrepreneurship experience offering up to 20 students an opportunity to conceptualize, develop, and execute a business concept as a group. Funding is provided by Youth University with collaboration from The Godman Guild Summer Teen Employment Program. Students have the option to pursue their business concept in real life, during the school year with financial backing from Youth University. Intro to Entrepreneurship is a newly launched program that focuses on individual development of tomorrow's entrepreneur. Youth University partners with the small business community, and local non-profit entities to give teens an entrepreneurial experience based on our Early Exposure Philosophy. Teens develop a personal business concept during a five-week period, and gain an opportunity to earn funding for their concepts through a series of Elevator Competitions. Youth University believes that an investment in a teen entrepreneur is an investment in the future local economy of any city. We appreciate your support in ensuring that our youth have the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century and beyond.
