The YYC opened its doors on October 15, 2012, initially focusing on caring for LGBTQ and homeless youth. Since those early days, the clinic has expanded its focus to include all youth (age 13 to 24), who need a medical home. Services include sick visits and preventive medical care, sexual/reproductive health care, HIV and sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, prevention counseling, referrals to specialized care for physical and emotional trauma, and linkage to other youth programs in the community. In addition, the YYC serves as a research center for national and state projects involving the health of teenagers and young adults.
