Supplier at National Cherry Growers & Industries Foundation - Hood River, Oregon, United States
The National Cherry Growers & Industries Foundation (NCGIF), is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1948. Our organization represents the unified community of the Processed Cherry Industry and our primary mission is to lobby against excessive cherry imports. We also work to ensure that monetary assessments are used for the promotion of Maraschino cherries across a number of different industries. Our organization is built upon contributions from growers and processors from the states of California, Michigan, Oregon, and Washington. Moreover, NCGIF is always looking for partnership opportunities and synergies with other commodities, hotel and restaurant chains and liquor companies for the purpose of featuring cherries in advertising, holiday interest and menu promotions.NCGIF is governed by a member board of Growers, Briners and Processors representing the aforementioned states. The organization compiles and distributes an annual statistical publication of information regarding cherry production, utilization and sales (both import and export). Additionally, the organization has, in recent years, assumed the role of collecting information from the industry regarding seasonal cherry brining by state; this report is also distributed to members and other interested parties.
