Founded in 1970, University Press of New England (UPNE) is an award-winning publisher supported by a consortium of member institutions including Brandeis University and Dartmouth College. UPNE has earned a reputation for excellence in scholarly, instructional, reference, literary and artistic, and general interest books. Many of these are published cooperatively with one of the member institutions and carry a joint imprint. General interest books for a national audience are published under our ForeEdge imprint, and regional books are published under the University Press of New England imprint.Our publishing program reflects strengths in the humanities, liberal arts, fine, decorative, and performing arts, literature, New England culture, and interdisciplinary studies. The Press publishes about 60 titles annually and distributes another 140 or so through its Book Partners program.
