Fascinated by artistic craftsmanship and by the natural beauty of horn, Mario Guerra set up in 1958 a workshop in Recanati, a small town located in the Marche region. Recanati and the whole region was, and still is, rich in culture and ancient traditions. Here many passionate and inventive artisans undertook new activities relying on their skills and creativity, blending traditional know-how with good taste. Thus was born Arcahorn, a company specialized in the processing of the Zebu horn which is molded into unique decor pieces, entirely handmade in Italy. Mario conveyed his passion and know-how to his sons, Giorgio and Silvia, who are now leading the company and focus on the manufacturing of furniture pieces and home accessories. With just the hands and the help of fire and of a few tools, horn is shaped into timeless objects and reveals its veins that are always different by nature. Each stage of processing is handled by skilled masters who shape horn according to antique techniques, conveyed by tradition. After a careful selection of the best parts and their exposure to fire, horn becomes malleable and ready to be smoothed. Artisans' hands gradually turn horn into tiles to be skillfully matched together in order to obtain exclusive collections of unsurpassed quality. We also offer bespoke designs and exceptional solutions that are tailored to meet the dreams and expectations of a demanding clientele and to enter the most elegant private residences, yachts, hotels and boutiques. Our vocation for craftsmanship is combined with the respect for the environment and the ecosystem. We source horns from Zebu (Horn Bos Taurus), an animal species that is not protected by the Washington convention. Horns are recovered at the end of animals' natural life cycle and acquire a new value through meticulous processes that are aimed at enhancing the organic characteristics of raw material.
