Immediate Theatre has been working at a grassroots level since 1996. We work with young people and communities across Hackney and East London to ensure access for all to arts activities that break down barriers and engage people in debate. Immediate Theatre's vision is for a society where questioning, articulate and motivated people create and collaborate to build thriving communities. We work in partnership to develop work that is:Inclusive - working at the grass roots and celebrating diversity.Interactive - involving communities throughout the creative process.Imaginative - finding new ways to engage with vital issues. We believe in the transformative power of theatre and the arts to all our lives and the importance of giving people a voice. Creating a real relationship with the communities in which we work is at the heart of what we do. Our work is particularly developed with and for marginalised young people and communities. Our three main strands of work engage young people, older people and adults who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).
