Moving Mindz was founded in 2015 by John J. Gaines to create a platform for inspiring and engaging all learners, for building their confidence, and for igniting a passion in building a better future. In the past six years, Moving Mindz has spread from serving a handful of local schools in the city of Long Beach to serving small- and mid-sized districts throughout LA and Orange counties, currently serving such districts as ABC Unified School District, Hacienda La Puente Unified School District, Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District, South Whittier School District, Whittier City School District, and West Covina Unified School District. They started as an educational services company, offering services such as parent education workshops and after school enrichment classes. Since then, they have expanded their list of services to Academic Tutoring, Academic Intervention, After School Enrichment, In-School Enrichment, GATE Program Support, Migrant Education Program Support, Parent Education Classes/Workshops, and Special Events, all that focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), the Arts, Literacy, and English Language Development. Moving Mindz has also developed its own set of Student Learning Kits and accompanying curriculum that focuses on the Next Generation Science Standards, while integrating Mathematics and English Language Arts into the curriculum.
