Using urban agriculture and food recovery efforts, we strive to feed bodies and nourish minds. That is our mission. That is why we exist.Operating as a non-profit organization east of the Anacostia River in DC's Ward 7, DC UrbanGreens strives to produce chemical-free fruits and vegetables on underutilitized urban land. Our food is grown right in the neighborhoods that need it most - low income areas lacking easy access to grocery stores.Working with an existing network of food truck businesses, our fresh produce and prepared foods can be directly inserted into the existing food supply chain, providing healthy options where there currently are none.
