The Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management was conceived in December 2001 with the mission to promote the growth of human resources professionals in the country.The Society intends to provide leadership through education, networking, shared knowledge and transfer of best practices across all the sectors. With the legal status of an Association of Persons, the Bangladesh Society for Human Resource Management was registered bythe Registrar of Joint Stock Company under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act No. XXI of 1860). A 15-member Executive Committee, all HR professionals across the sectors, is responsible for overall management of the Society. Since its formal inauguration in April 2002 by the then Honourable President of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh, Professor A.Q.M. Badrudduza Chowdhury at the grand ball room of Hotel Sheraton, Dhaka, the Society arranged a significant number of specialised training programmes, workshops, seminars. It also arranges national level round table discussions on relevant topics and periodic get together with its members. The society also publishes a quarterly newsletter for its members and relevant audiences. It looks forward to introduce new avenues of learning in future. Presently the Society has more than 1200 Fellow, Associate and General Members across the country.
