-- Our Story -- OMGeek.net is a website and community for gamers in Southeast Asia. Our community consists mostly of working professionals who enjoy playing video games and talking about computer hardware as our hobby. We document our passion for the games industry with a uniquely Southeast Asian world view, and what that means for our region and as a working gamer. We have seen steady growth in our community with the bulk of our members hailing from Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei and the rest of Southeast Asia. -- Our Vision -- The video games market is steadily growing in Southeast Asia, with gaming communities in each country. However, we feel that most of these groups are also focused inward, either due to cultural or even language barriers with the rest of the region. We believe OMGeek can be one way to address these concerns -- a sort of conduit if you will, linking these disparate communities. Our goal is to create a haven for all Southeast Asian gamers who are as passionate about the hobby as we are, by finding common threads of interests and topics in the hobby we enjoy. Since OMGeek's founding in 2011 by its three co-founders -- Mike Ferrer in Singapore, Jed Revita and James Chua in Manila -- OMGeek's vision has been to bring together an online community in Southeast Asia that enjoys a high standard of teamplay and maturity in gameplay, alongside intelligent discussion of gaming topics. Since then the team has expanded to include Joel Koh, Steve Willis, Mitch Ellis, Don Wu from Singapore, Justin Jeshurun from Malaysia and Joey Hamidon from Brunei. We produce original content, through our blog and video show related to the games we play, tech hardware we enjoy and the experiences we gather. We wanted a place where we could hang up our hats at the end of the day to play games and talk about the games we love with people from our region. Today, that dream lives on and continues to thrive.
