FDB – acronym for Forgia di Bollate – has a long-lasting tradition in open-die forging and heat treatment of steels, with special regards to the production of square section and shaped rings of steel and non-ferrous alloys. The company was founded in Bollate back in 1961. In order to fulfill market needs and increase the production capacity, Rho plant was incorporated in 2003. The new headquarter is today located in Canneto sull'Oglio, a green field plan started in 2010 and equipped with state of the art machineries representing a benchmark in the worldwide rolling sector.Over the years the company has driven its strategic investments gaining a leadership in the technology and production of rings. FDB is equipped with 18 furnaces up to 100tons capacity, 4 rolling facilities, 4 manipulators and 5 presses, having one of the biggest hydraulic press in the world with 200.000 KN capacity. Thanks to its plants and unique know-how, FDB can manufacture parts as open-die forging up to 14 tons, rings up to 8000mm diameter and 2800mm height, and a wide range of shaped rings according to customer's needs in different steel grades: carbon steel, high-alloy steel, stainless, duplex and super duplex as well as non-ferrous alloys. The design of each part is studied by an expert engineering team which can support the customer for any special need, while the entire production cycle is managed through modern software devices. Quality is guaranteed through dimensional controls performed on 100% of products and through NDT and destructive tests, as well as metallographic examination carried out in our two laboratories FDB successfully supply worldwide customers in any sectors as power generation, off-shore, oil & gas, construction , engineering & mechanics.
