N3.Healthcare is an e-health integration platform that connects healthcare information systems through application programming interfaces (API) based on HL7 FHIR to exchange information about patients. N3.Healthcare has 14 modules that cover core regional healthcare processes including electronic appointment scheduling, integrated electronic medical record, laboratory data exchange, diagnostic imaging exchange, patient referral management, master patient index, business intelligence, terminology management system.N3.Healthcare provides standardized data exchange between local and national-level information systems, as well as between healthcare facilities, regional governments and federal authorities. Exchange protocols are based on HL7 FHIR®.We use web technologies and international standards to build an open network where health care providers interact. We use HL7 FHIR to ensure semantic interoperability and IHE profiles to build business processes. Access control is provided by distributed authentication mechanisms (standards: OpenID + JWT, RFC 7519), and policies-based authorization (aka ABAC, using standards: XACML, OAuth 2.0, JWT). Legitimacy of data exchange is ensured by using EDS.
