The OneMama Organization is a self-sustaining medical clinic in Africa that promotes safe birthing environments, family and financial planning, as well as trade craft and agricultural education. With over ten years in the recruiting business, founder Siobhan Neilland has now translated for-profit core methodologies in to building an international nonprofit organization that utilizes these methodologies to organize a three-tier infrastructure for the OneMama Organization. After overcoming her own obstacles of illness, poverty and the loss of her child, she set out to create self-sustainable communities around the world in an effort to help the world render trife in to peace - empowering women to have a voice.OneMama programs put special focus on women, specifically midwives who are often at the center of these impoverished communities. Women in late term pregnancy travel by foot for miles in order to give birth with a midwife they trust. At times, a single midwife nurtures all of the mothers and infants of an entire community- thus, quite literally being one mother for all: One Mama. Our pilot program in Uganda consists of building an on-site, solar birthing and medical clinic where midwives can provide safe post and prenatal care to their patients as well as teach about family planning and economic sustainability. As OneMama grows, we will gradually replicate this program in 250 communities around the globe.Get inspired today and become a OneMama Action Hero!
