F9 Project Services began in 2007 officially as a Pty Ltd Company. However it was many years prior to this that F9 recognised the necessity to establish and implement Project Controls Systems to ensure the success of all Projects. So in 2004 F9 commenced what would be the beginning of filling the void in the industry to not only fulfil the lack of resources available for this market but to also expand and share the knowledge that is mandatory to project success – Project Controls. What F9 have managed to establish is not only training resources in the software (Primavera) but also instil the broad understanding of the principles of planning from the Owner's perspective, the Contractor's perspective and the overall EPCM perspective. It is this understanding that not only brings about the best training for planning candidates but also the knowledge that F9 will provide on going support and consultation to all Projects. F9 want to provide you – the client – with the knowledge, the resources and the understanding to drive project success now and in the future. The successful performance of a project depends on appropriate planning. The Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide defines the use of 21 processes that relate to planning out of the 39 processes for project management. The execution of a project is based on a robust project plan and can only be achieved through an effective schedule control methodology. The development of a suitable Project Control system is an important part of the project management effort. Furthermore, it is widely recognised that a lack of planning and monitoring plays a major role as the cause of project failures. Despite the continuous evolution in the project management field, it appears evident that the traditional approach still shows a lack of utilisation of Project Controls and there have been a number of articles published to support the importance of control in the achievement of project objectives.
