Founded in 1962, by Bishop James E. Kearney of the Roman Catholic Church , and Monsignor William M. Roche, superintendent of the Rochester Diocesan Schools, Bishop Kearney l is nationally recognized for providing a quality college preparatory program. About:Bishop Kearney , a Golisano Education Partner, is a co-ed, private, Roman Catholic high school and middle school, located in Irondequoit, NY. Bishop Kearney offers education opportunities to students grades 6-12, in tradition of the Congregation of Christian Brothers and School Sisters of Notre Dame. 400 students populate the school and its 42 acre campus. Bishop Kearney has a booming championship athletic program, growing music department and a student run television station. Our Girl's Hockey Team:Bishop Kearney's girls Hockey Team was created when the school partnered with Legacy Sports. The program is known as Selects Academy, the girls compete on an elite level with teams across the Northeast. The 16U girl's hockey team is made up of 20 girls from 11 different states and Canada. All of the players attend Bishop Kearney as normal day students, but are housed on the 3rd floor where they live in recently renovated dorms. The girls have an impressive overall average of a 95% for the 3rd quarter. Along with staying above and beyond academic standards, the team was 6th in the country, with a record of 51-11-7.
