Mitsui E&P Australia Pty Ltd and AWE Limited are both wholly owned subsidiaries of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Japan), and are sister companies. We are working under the single brand of Mitsui E&P Australia (MEPAU) to reflect the combined businesses.We operate as regional headquarters for Mitsui's oil and gas exploration and production business in Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia. We have approximately 100 people working at our head office in Perth and at site.Since MEPAU was founded in 2004, the company has grown to become one of Australia's largest energy producers. MEPAU has six producing oil and gas assets in Australia and, since purchasing AWE in 2018, MEPAU is Operator of four facilities in the Mid West of Western Australia. The company also has interests in 20 projects that are in various exploration and development stages.MEPAU has a strong track record in safety, environmental management, exploration and development. We have built a solid reputation through our successful projects.
