Karnatak Law Society's Shri Vasantrao Potdar Polytechnic (formerly known as Polytechnic for Women) was established in the year 1992. The idea behind setting up the Polytechnic was to impart quality technical education, to girl students from economically weaker section of the society.The Institute started with two Diploma courses in Engineering Disciplines, viz. Architecture and Computer Science. Today, VPP is offering diploma education in five disciplines viz Architecture, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Civil Engineering and Mechanical EngineeringThe Institute has seen a steady growth in students' intake, from 50 to 271 over a span of 20 years, while total staff strength has gone up from 3 to 70 in the same period.
