I focus on beauty makeup that enhances rather than masks a person's features. While I do feel that "cake face" is beautiful, my own tastes lean more towards classic and elegant so that is what I tend to want to provide my clientele. In over 27 years as a makeup artist my experience includes bridal, special events, business professionals, print and music videos. I reside in Northwest Indiana and have been diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. This is why I'm so passionate about advocating for those with disabilities. I genuinely love meeting new people and look forward to working with you!Professional Makeup Artist Sondra D. Boyd DBA KittySpeaks, LLC completed her certified Professional Makeup Artist training in 2013 and finally realized a dream that had first fascinated her young mind in adolescence. Her mother had only reinforced that fascination by forbidding her young daughter to wear makeup when it seemed to her like the entire world (kids can be so dramatic) was wearing makeup except her! The artists' first personal experience with cosmetics was with Fashion Fair Cosmetics at Carson Pirie Scott when she left home and went to college and she's been hooked ever since. She started out selling Avon, thinking she could learn about makeup but through that experience she was approached by someone with a different opportunity. They told her about Mary Kay Cosmetics. The bar was higher, and education was a high priority for "the Company". Training its Consultants was an integral component of Mary Kay's business plan and was key to the success of everyone's business. For over 15 years I learned more than how to apply makeup; I learned how to identify and treat skin issues, to communicate effectively, work within others' boundaries, make people feel comfortable, cooperate & most importantly to admit to my limitations.Combining my love of learning & cosmetics, I got to challenge myself and enroll in school formally & graduate in 2013. Every day is fun!
