Deputy Project Director and Head Engineering (Dhamra LNG Terminal Private Limited)
On 17 October 2018, Adani and Total announced the beginning of a partnership to develop multi energy offers for the Indian energy market. A part of the partnership involves the development of the Indian gas market specifically the LNG market. This has resulted in the creation of a 50:50 Joint Venture - Adani Total Private Limited (ATPL), which also fully owns Dhamra LNG Private Limited (DLTPL). ATPL's ambition is to be a strong player in the Indian and neighboring markets whilst recognizing the needs of customers. Unlike other existing players, ATPL is a new regional gas marketing company with no legacy contracts and therefore an ability to address the current requirements of the gas market by offering a full bouquet of LNG supply options such as long, mid-term and spot contracts.ATPL aims to demonstrate its long term commitment to the Indian gas market not just through marketing but also through its 100% subsidiary Dhamra LNG Pvt Ltd (DLTPL), which is building its own LNG terminal in the strategic location of Dhamra (Odisha). The Dhamra terminal will have capacity of 5 million tons per annum (mtpa), two storage tanks with 180,000 m3 capacity each and a jetty capable of receiving vessels between 70,000 m3 to 265,000 m3. It is at an advanced stage of construction and is scheduled to be ready for commercial operations around July 2022.The partnership is promoted by strong, credible, and complementary partners having significant presence across the global LNG value chain and crucial Indian infrastructure. They have a proven track record of completing large and complex projects on time and within budget.Adani is one of the fastest growing conglomerates in India. The growth of the Adani group has been an integral part of India's resurgence.Total is one of the super-major oil and gas companies, which produces and markets fuels, natural gas, and low-carbon electricity. It is the world's second largest marketer of LNG with a portfolio of 40 MTPA in 2020.
