Assam Cancer Care Foundation is a Government of Assam and Tata Trusts initiative, established to create a three-tier comprehensive cancer care network and provide accessible and affordable cancer care for the denizens. ACCF has undertaken the cosmic mission of setting up nineteen state-of-the-art cancer care facilities across the state of Assam. These facilities are strategically located to ensure everyone has access to the full suite of treatment without having to travel too far from their base. The facilities will be digitally enabled by DiNc (Digital Nerve Centre) that has been set up within the premises of State Cancer Institute (SCI) in Guwahati. DiNC will open new communication touch points to connect the three-tier hospital network in real time, for delivery of virtual care through consistent and continuous communication. This will multiply the impact of the 19-centre physical infrastructure by almost four times.South Asia Cancer Care Foundation (SACCF)SACCF – an integral part of ACCF - is an oncology research centre formed for extensive research pertaining to treatment and care of cancer. The centre also aims to research in different types of cancer, the benefits of which will be shared with cancer care hospitals under Tata Trusts and State Governments.Community OutreachACCF aims to build a sustained community engagement programme and bring about behaviour change in approach to seeking healthcare. Certain kind of cancers, if detected at an early stage can be treated and cured. With the urgent need to shift focus from curative to awareness and early detection, a robust community outreach programme has been designed and implemented for emphasising on cancer awareness, prevention, screening, early detection, curative treatment and palliative care.
