Duro Capital is a funds management firm that aims to grow wealth for our capital partners by investing in businesses listed on the ASX.After successfully managing our own portfolio for some time (64% p.a. personal portfolio return Nov 2015 - March 2021), we decided to establish the firm and extend the invitation to like-minded investors to join us on this journey.In 1964, the average company's lifespan on the S&P 500 Index was 33 years. It is forecasted to be just 12 short years by 2027 (Innosight - 2018). We believe that the forces of technology and social democratisation are accelerating at a rapid pace. These forces are shifting the way we do things and the way we relate to the companies from which we buy goods and services. It is our opinion that the market is generally slow in understanding these structural shifts, creating mispricing in equities. This dislocation presents us with opportunities as long term investors. At Duro Capital, we are passionate about investing in emerging companies who are poised to capitalise on these themes. We have a long-term view in all of our partnerships and investments. We are a mission-driven and people-centric firm, seeking to create meaningful partnerships with our investors on a long-term journey of growth. We approach investment in listed companies like a private investor in private business - by delving deeply into the business and the handful of levers that will drive success. Whilst maintaining the flexibility to pursue an outstanding investment opportunity in all areas of the ASX, the bulk of our time will be spent in analysing small and micro-cap companies. This is where the illiquidity of stocks provides us with a structural advantage being a boutique fund and where historical returns have been higher than other segments of the ASX.
