1Gen is a student-run organization supporting first-generation college students at Claremont McKenna College. Since our founding in 2017, 1Gen has upheld our mission of supporting students by fostering community, promoting academic success and advancing professional development. In the first year alone, the club held 25+ events that ranged from an etiquette dinner to course registration prep . The leadership team introduced a new mentorship program this semester, where first-year students and sophomores will have the opportunity to be advised by upperclassmen. Together, our leadership team and members make up a diverse group. Our growing community is dedicated to helping students both during and after college, in hopes of helping them succeed in their own ways.
