2020 Power Generation is developing Ultramo ® engine technology - now a mature R&D project in its fourth year. Supported by the UK government’s Department of Energy and Climate Change, TSB, Carbon Trust, and equity investors from the power industry, with over $1.8M invested, the company anticipates bringing a 20% increase in fuel efficiency to market. Compared to today’s 1MW diesel generator at 40% fuel efficiency (225l/hr diesel), Ultramo technology targets 48% fuel efficiency or better (<185l/hr diesel). The step change in efficiency is capable of saving more than $180B a year in direct fuel cost savings and 360k mega tonnes of CO2e for the more than 420,000 1MW generators in operation worldwide.The core team leading technical development have over 140 years of combined international business experience with 90 years in research, development and engineering.
