Now approaching its 7th consecutive year, the Three Rivers Festival is a grass roots community celebration of Aboriginal Music, Art, Culture and Health and has established itself as a key event on the calendar for the Victorian & NSW Indigenous communities.The name 'Three Rivers' references Echuca-Moama's location on Yorta-Yorta country where the Murray (Dungula), Campaspe (Yakoa) & Goulburn (Kaiela) Rivers meet, and symbolises 'coming together'.The alcohol and drug-free event consists of a touch football competition, dance ceremony (Corroborree) & culture, free concert featuring emerging and established Indigenous musicians/dance groups, and an arts and crafts market.This is not just a unique event, but also a cultural responsibility to educate the next generation to be strong in health, strong in culture. Over 6 years our festival has developed a large regional audience, some great local partnerships and has developed a sound festival model that integrates music, sport and culture to connect our elders and young people in a fun and safe space.
