Printing - Chatham, New York, United States
3DPhotoWorks' patented process converts visual and graphic material into a three-dimensional tactile print. Our prints have length, width, depth, and texture. Blind and disabled individuals experience our prints through tactile feedback. This feedback creates a mental picture that allows them to 'see' visual and graphic material through touch. Each product is a unique, one-of-a-kind work of art. To further assist in creating a more interactive experience, braille can be utilized for text, and sensors can be embedded so that when touched, a customized audio narrative is activated. Components that emit unique smells are also available. These three senses - touch, hearing, and smell, work together in the brain to replace the sense of sight. They create their own mental picture from this confluence of sensory stimulation. Touching a tactile print while listening to a coordinated audio presentation creates an enhanced kinesthetic learning experience.
