About 50 and Loving It HQI had the dubious pleasure of turning 50 earlier this year and like so many of my friends of the same vintage, it has been a mixed bag of emotions.Prior to "the BIG DATE!" I was constantly asked how I felt about turning 50 as if it was something to fear. For me it was just another date on the calendar, but for others it is a huge melting pot of toil and trouble.I have been fortunate enough to have a Pollyanna/Tinkerbelle outlook on life and as such, I think that is why most people are amazed that I am 50. And actually, so am I!The time has gone so quickly and I have so much more to accomplish and experience. I have a massive appreciation for life and all it has to offer and love being me – most of the time! One of the first things I did to acknowledge that I am still up for a laugh was to take this ‘Calendar Girls" style photo. Talk about being pushed outside my comfort zone.Even after 30 something years of self -development courses, counseling and coaching people, I was still pushed to my limits. Oh boy! I managed to convince two gorgeous girlfriends to join me in this type of shot at the end of 2015 after we had all celebrated our birthdays. When we talked about what type of props we could use, I jokingly picked a lotus flower as I am open to all things positive and spiritual and wouldn't you know it, the very next morning I saw this beauty at the shops. Or it found me maybe? I had no choice but to put my money where my big mouth was and take the plunge. And you know what? The floor didn't swallow me up!This whole experience got me thinking that there is still so much more in store and I thought it would be fun to take you all along with me on this next rollercoaster ride.As the saying goes:"We may not have it all together, but together we have it all!"http://50andlovingithq.com
