7by6 was established by Chris Greensmith as a collaborative structural, facade and civil engineering practice. Our niche is in building structures and the built environment. We are passionate about structures and their interaction with architecture. Douglas Adams wrote that the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything is 42, but we are always left wondering what the question should be. At 7by6 we focus on asking the right questions of clients and the other designers involved, striving for symbiotic solutions that are elegant in their simplicity. We are architecturally sensitive engineers with a vision for Architectural Engineering. We see the future as a space where the lines between structural engineer and architect are blurred. An industry where engineers are designers that help architecture to celebrate structure in the creative process.
