Founded in 1946, 9 Gough Chambers is a leading common law set of barristers' chambers. We continue to be at the forefront of change in the legal profession, providing modern, professional and approachable legal services to a wide range of clients throughout the country and abroad. Our clients include national and local firms of solicitors, companies, individuals, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Serious Fraud Office, government departments, police forces and local authorities. Our self-employed members provide first-class advocacy and practical legal advice in virtually every aspect of civil, family and criminal law. Our skills and experience have led us to be consistently recognised in legal directories and by our professional and lay clients as leaders in our fields. Many of our members are acknowledged experts in their areas of practice, sitting as part-time judges and on professional bodies, authoring leading text books and providing training to leading firms of solicitors. We are all able to work remotely and have already conducted a large number of hearings, trials, appeals in the Court of Appeal, conferences and JSMs by video conferencing (including MS Teams, Skype for Business, Zoom and Google Hangouts) and by telephone.
