Non-Profit - Pittsburgh, PA, US
A Child's Place, PA was established in 1999. The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) model's main objective is to reduce trauma to child victims by bringing all disciplines together and sharing information more efficiently to minimize the duplication of services. A Child's Place, PA was established to coordinate these services to ensure the accuracy and speed of investigations to help protect children from further abuse. Using an experienced interdisciplinary team of pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, and child development specialists, ACP works to assess the possibility of child abuse. Over time, the CAC has evolved into a multi-purpose agency passionate about serving children and families in Western Pennsylvania and continues to offer programs and services intent on stopping and preventing child abuse. ACP currently has five accredited locations, including the host site in Allegheny County, and satellite sites in Beaver, Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.
