A Kopp Music is a private music lesson studio in Golden Valley, MN with a team of instructors covering all instruments. Currently enrolling students ages 4 - 7 on Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, and Handwriting, and ages 8 through adult on all instruments including piano, guitars, band instruments, orchestra instruments, percussion/drums, and voice. Students range in experience from beginners to advanced and in all styles including but not limited to classical, jazz, rock, contemporary, folk, hip hop, and blues. Current performance opportunities include an annual studio recital (MARCH) and the annual Holiday Cookie & Music Share (DECEMBER). A Kopp Music is proud to be instructor owned and operated. Owners Andrew Kopp & Alicia Kopp are long time instructors in the area, originally from Jim Harms's My Music Store (Golden Valley, closed 2017) and Music + (Crystal, closed 1999). Together they share more than 45 years of private music lesson experience. As a sharp contrast to the private music lesson industry, instructors of A Kopp Music are W-2 employees.UPDATE: As of 3/16/2020 A Kopp Music is ONLINE LESSONS ONLY. It is our goal to make a return to in-person lessons one day. The benchmark for an in-person return is being able to bring all instruments, including woodwind and brass (1/2 of our student roster), safely indoors in small spaces for students and staff of all ages. We don't anticipate this happening before mid-late 2022 at the earliest. Online Lessons are convenient and safe. Our students progress at the same pace that they did in person because our staff is able to connect through the technology to give the same amazing experience we did in-person. We were called "Unique" and something that felt "Normal" during the lockdown period of 2020. High praise that we are very proud of being able to deliver on.
