A-Rad is a radiography practice that provides fluoroscopic guidance intra-operatively in the surgical setting. We dedicate a radiographer to each surgeons list and provide 24/7 service and emergency standby cover. Our radiographers are trained to work as part of the theatre team. Our objectives are to provide high quality screening services to the surgeons as well as patient care. Our radiographers will ensure the following:• Radiation Protection of all staff and patients• ALARA Principle• Patient Dose records• Cleaning of C-arms• Reporting malfunctions of x-ray equipment • Communicate radiation safety to the staff• Comply with hospital regulations and code of conductThe A-Rad team consists of skilled radiographers specifically trained in to work in the dedicated fields: Vascular, Cardiac, Urology, Neurology, Orthopaedic, Paediatric & General Surgery. The radiographers are HPCSA registered and the practice assists each radiographer with obtaining CPD points to keep skill sets up to date . The practice provides each radiographer with their own dosimeter and monitors their radiation.
