Diversity is a fundamental component of The Chicago School's mission. The school believes that multicultural awareness and culturally-sensitive therapeutic approaches are crucial to the successful practice of professional psychology. The Center for Multicultural and Diversity Studies was chartered to help realize this mission and serves as a resource to both The Chicago School community and to professionals across the country. In addition to keeping staff and faculty informed about cultural activities and service opportunities in the local community, the center sponsors and hosts an impressive range of cultural enrichment events, guest speakers, roundtable discussions, and The Chicago School's annual Cultural Impact Conference that draws professionals from around the country to share research and explore issues related to diversity and multiculturalism. The Center for Multicultural and Diversity Studies also coordinates a colloquia series to highlight The Chicago School's community scholarship and serves as a student and faculty consultant regarding enhancement of diversity education.
