a studio.space is a Cape Town based architectural practice established by sunniva viking and tomà berlanda in 2019. Our work combines a formal education as European architects with the lived experiences of over a decade in eastern and southern Africa.Operating at the nexus of socially engaged and transcultural design, the intention is to experiment with a multiplicity of forms of practice, balancing between cultures and political forces, negotiating between local and foreign building techniques, and bridging cultural, social and ethical distances.
