Awake in the Current is a fundraising adventure initiative started by Bowman Hitchens, Max Zoghbi and Rob Treppendahl. We are seeking to raise money and awareness for two ministries: Interfaith Compassion Ministries in Oxford, MS and The Gardere Community Christinan School in Baton Rouge, LA. During the summer of 2011, Max, Bowman, and Rob kayaked the entire Mississippi River, raising $43,000 for the ministries through donations by individuals and businesses. It is our goal that Awake In the Current become a foundation in the future in which we can financially, spiritually, and mentally support individuals and groups with crazy ideas for impacting their communities.
